Yep, I'm inclined to agree. As one goes through one's own analysis, causes and effects begin to blend together. Psychic time isn't linear at all, but retroactive. For instance, a moment isn't properly traumatic until it is defined/recognized as such in retrospect, and this changes the coordinates of the event itself.

Also makes me think of that Kierkegaard line, "You can only live forward but understand backwards" or however it goes.
